Tips

  • This commendable bar-club comprises one expansive room - divided by a wall with an oval hole in the middle, giving the illusion that half of Hoxton is here - and a small pool room downstairs.
  • No surprise this place has so many check-ins. It's the very heart of Shoreditch right now. Our tip is to check out the ceiling in the basement bar - made of light bulbs!
  • Go to the basement and stare at the ceiling. I want this ceiling.
  • Don't dress smartly - e.g. suit/tie as I saw lots of bankers etc. refused entry on Fri/Sat. Very "Shoreditch", but good food and atmosphere.
  • Wifi password is "thebookclub"
  • I love everything about this place.
  • Art, atmosphere and ping pong, one of the nicest bars in Shoreditch. Watch out for the communal toilets
  • The lighbulb ceiling downstairs IS excellent - but don't forget the paisly curtains on the ground floor. We want them.
  • Free wifi password: thebookclub
  • Very hipster-y but lovely and filling food for not too bad cost wise. Worth checking out if you're in the area.
  • One of the coolest *social* spots in East London. Wi-fi works great, ask staff for password.
  • Wifi: wearetbc pass: thebookclub
  • They serve really good breakfast too. Try the buttermilk pancakes with fruit. Or the vegetarian full english breakfast
  • Get on the list via www.gateme.com/bookclub ;)
  • Came here for lunch with my company today. Tha place looks quirky and its probably fun at night, but unfortunately the food was less than average.. Not impressed basically.
  • If you ever look up "Where are the hipsters?", perhaps the first result would be book club! Relaxing atmosphere in the afternoons, party freak in the night. Ping Pong is a great +
  • Good place for drinks and music. Not much on the menu goodwise (just snacks and a burger). But theyhabe wifi, space and good tables.
  • It continually astounds me how long it takes to get to the bar in this place. On Fri/Sat night the bar upstairs is always 5 people deep. Doesn't The Book Club want to take my money?
  • Try the Vegetarian Breakfast - Best veggie breakfast in London
  • The nachos are pretty special.
