Starbucks' Blonde Roast Is Apparently Doing Well

Although The Daily Meal's reviews of Starbuck's new Blonde roast weren't particularly positive, Business Insider reports that the brew is actually popular.

After speaking with 55 Starbucks stores and 22 grocery stores in America, Deutsche Bank found that "in the grocery channel, managers estimated that Blonde represents [about] 12% of the overall SBUX product line."

The light roast is doing so well, in fact, that Deutsche Bank has reportedly raised its earning estimates for the coffee chain, upping the price target from $59 to $61.

Furthermore, the light roast brew reportedly makes up about 25 to 30 percent of drip coffee orders (that's per checks), and officials expect sales to grow as the brew becomes more well-known. Who knows? Maybe light coffee will become a thing.
