Foursquare Tips

  • arguably my favorite place on planet earth. give Bob and Jon a big hug for me. get whatever sandwich you fancy but you're insane not to add a cup of soup and a butter cookie.
  • What the Valrhona Chocolate and Salted Caramel macarons lack in visual appeal they more than make up for in taste and texture.
  • Best macaroons in the city!
  • I've literally traveled the world in search of a better sandwich and have yet to find one. This place is special.
  • Turkey + Swiss with Barnaise, tomato, lettuce on croissant is my go to. Recommend substituting Gruyre. Soups are great (cream of tomato on Saturdays is my fave). Finish with a vanilla sugar cookie.
  • You must have the Soupe du Jour! It doesn't matter what the flavour is, they are masters and it will be excellent! Tomato Bisque, Potato Leek, Onion, etc... :)
  • Great sandwich! Try the beef w/blue cheese. Friendly & authentic. The kind of place that hipsters want to replicate.
  • Not the usual deli suspects. Refined sandwich combinations and ingredients are as fresh as can be. Roast beef on olive/rosemary bread w/ garlic aioli would be an excellent choice. Great cookies too!
  • The sandwiches here are some of the best that exist the cookies. OMG!
  • Great sandwiches. Macaroons are fantastic.
  • Valrhona Chocolate and Salted Caramel macarons!
  • I've eaten in 49 states and almost 30 countries and the roast beef and havarti with dill on croissant with bearnaise is the best sandwich I've ever eaten. This place is special.
  • Butter cookie. Soup of the day. Any sandwich on a croissant.
  • The nicest people, the most amazing sandwiches and cookies. It is not too much to say that they who run this place, belong to a more...civilized world.
  • The roast beef and blue cheese sandwich is great, but get some napkins because it can get messy.
  • The wait's usually pretty long (apparently only one person makes the sandwiches...) and their hours are a little weird (closed wednesdays) but worth the wait! Get the butter cookies!
  • Delicious sandwiches and cookies but don't expect great service and don't come when you're in a rush. They open when they want (usually late in my ecperience) they don't make the sandwiches quickly.
  • their smoked salmon and brie has been one of the best sandwich experiences of my life
  • Run by the same family for over 60 years, this low-key Francophile deli makes the best sandwiches in the city and macaroons that are to die for.
  • Nice filling sandwiches. Nothing outrageously special, but tasty nonetheless. Served in an old style deli. Don't take credit.
