Tips

  • Owners give an interesting tour of their beer, offering insight on how to develop product and be a small business owner. Best brewery experience in DC.
  • Really fun brewery, with a relaxed tasting room featuring cornhole and great music. Perfect spot for relaxing on the weekends with some great brews.
  • Take the brewery tour. Really. You will learn about beer making, but it's really an object lesson in passion. Amazing!
  • Dave and Mike are working magic at 3 Stars; their beers are experimental, diverse and all of extremely high quality. Hit up their growler hours to see why they are easily the top brewery in DC.
  • The guys behind 3 Stars Brewing, have opened a homebrew supply shop in their soon-to-be-running brewery. In addition to ingredients, they will sell the tanks and tools to get you started.
  • "Take your ID to sample brews (get four three-ounce pours for free) and discover the founders soft side: They use locally grown grains."-via Daily Candy
  • Great, interesting beers on the weekend in growlers, usually about $15 or so to fill one. Plenty of samples, and often some food or a food truck on site. Definitely worth a visit.
  • Great place to hang and drink a beer
  • Great spot to sample local craft beers. I recommend getting a flight so you can try all the different styles. Cool interior space with lots of seating. They even offer tours on Saturdays!
  • The Funkerdome Society is great if you like sour beers. You get 5 special release beers throughout the year and get access to special events.
  • Great selection of beers, from IPAs to sours
  • Everything.
  • A cool spot if just "being at a brewery" is your goal. Beers are mostly middling though.
  • The classics are Peppercorn Saison and Southern Belle. Consider those your entry points.
  • Bring a $2 bill to leave in the tip jar in the tasting room. It's considered good luck by the crew that pours.
  • You can get four 1 oz pours just for stopping by! The farmhouse is a great place to sample a few beers and fill up a growler.
  • Excellent Beers.
  • Great tasting room with friendly peeps.
  • For someone looking to get started with homebrewing, their homebrew shop is a great place for getting the equipment and ingredients you need
  • Homebrew shop inside!
