Snake Bite Shot Recipe

If you are looking for a strong shot, this snake bite shot will definitely do the trick. This recipe only contains 2 ingredients, one of which is Yukon Jack. Yukon Jack is 100 proof, which is really strong and undoubtedly packs a punch. This recipe calls for the original Yukon Jack, but the brand also features other kinds, such as barrel-proof, rye, and fire. However, for simplicity's sake, the original is all you need.

Recipe developer Erin Johnson came up with this simple recipe, and we warn you — it's not for the faint of heart. "The slogan on the bottle of Yukon Jack says, "only the strong survive," which is fitting. Be warned, this shot is not for everyone, and even as a whiskey drinker, it left me with [chills]," Johnson says. "If you're looking to jump-start a party, this would be an easy way to kick it up from 0 to 60 in a hurry." Keep reading to find out how to make this snake bite shot.

Gather the ingredients for this snake bite shot

This recipe is as simple as they come, and you will only need 2 ingredients. All you need is some original Yukon Jack, and Rose's sweetened lime juice. Once you have those 2 things, you can make this simple snake bite shot.

Add the ingredients to a shaker

To make this adult beverage, you will need a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker tin about halfway with ice, then toss in the Yukon Jack and Rose's sweetened lime juice. "If you're making more than 1 shot, feel free to mix several at once," Johnson notes.

Shake, strain and serve

Place the lid back on the cocktail shaker, and shake vigorously to combine, about 15 seconds. "The bold can forgo shaking if you'd prefer an undiluted shot, but at 100 proof ... drinkers beware," Johnson warns.

Then, strain the liquid into a shot glass, and enjoy. Since it's so potent, you may want to pair this shot with food!
