During Season 10 of "Shark Tank," Sanaia founder Keisha Smith-Jeremie appealed to the Sharks to garner an investment in her "adult applesauce" brand (per theĀ Shark Tank Blog). While a number of the sharks expressed hesitancy, citing concerns with packaging and the cost ($19.99 for four 7.75 ounce jars), Mark Cuban ultimately offered her $150,000 for a 25% share in the business (via Shark Tank Tales).

Smith-Jeremie had grown up in the Bahamas creating her own applesauces and was inspired to create and sell the sauce when she brought tamarind back to the U.S. after a trip home. She combined the tamarind with homemade applesauce and became determined to launch an organic product that featured the flavors she had grown to love.

However, despite shaking hands on the deal, Cuban's deal with Smith-Jeremie was never finalized (perĀ Shark Tank Recap). So, was Smith-Jeremie able to find success with Sanaia anyway?

Where is Sanaia now?

Keisha Smith-Jeremie's efforts to continue selling Sanaia applesauce were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic (per Shark Tank Recap). The effects on production were too great to continue at the time.

However, in April 2022, Sanaia announced a re-launch, and sales of the grown-up applesauce resumed on both the company's website and on Amazon. A publicist for Sanaia reached out to Bizzbucket in June of the same year, assuring the site that the guava and unsweetened flavors were available, with the launch of the blackberry and hibiscus flavors on the horizon.

Quietly, though, the outfit appears to have shuttered again. Sanaia's website isn't currently working, and its Instagram and Facebook pages appear to have been taken down. Amazon lists the applesauce as "currently unavailable." While it could be that the company is re-working its strategy again, it seems that Sanaia's organic applesauce is no longer being sold.
