What Your "Drink" Says About You on a Date

Are you an easy going Bud Light drinker or trying to impress with a Martini?

What you order on a date can definitely send a signal, whether or not it's one you're conscious of. Sure, the list below is mainly full of generalizations, but there's some truth to every stereotype...

Click here for the What Your "Drink" Says About You on a Date Slideshow.

Martini: If you're a guy, you're trying to impress (and it's probably working). If you're a girl drinking a dirty martini, you're a hot mess: the dirtier, the messier, the hotter.

Vodka on the Rocks: Too self-conscious to actually order a martini.

White Russian: Obsessed with The Big Lebowski, and probably The Daily Show. Or, you just like to drink dessert.

Bud Light: You're easy going, laid back, and at home at a sports bar. If you're a girl, you know how to hang with the guys.

Stella Artois: You have no particular knowledge or affinity towards beer so you just order "Stella" cause it's familiar.

Lillet/Campari/Aperol: You're twee, and possibly like to throw around words like "mixology."

Vodka Cranberry: When in doubt, you stick to what you drank in college.

White wine: You're definitely a woman. You're possibly a little uptight.

Prosecco: You're often a little uptight, but tonight you're looking to party.

Whiskey, neat: You're hot. Regardless of gender.

Jäger: Secretly wishing you were hanging out with your buddies.

Vodka Gimlet: You're a huge dork, but you hope sort of in a cool way?

Was this written by an adult? If so, she's obviously never been to Texas, where Margaritas are as popular as beer, at all restaurants, everywhere. Not very thoughtful, not at all clever, and a rather, rather measly article.

tdm-35-icon.png

Wow. A blog written by a faux drink snob. If only your talent for writing a well researched article matched your talent for writing pseudo-snark.

tdm-35-icon.png

This is the stupidest article I have ever seen!

tdm-35-icon.png

Yep. Wish I could get those few minutes back.

And slap the author.

tdm-35-icon.png

tdm-35-icon.png

Thats good ADVERTISE for ALCOHOL and show everyone how Great it is FOR YOPU

I love how a Bud Light, the go-to drink for those who don't know the first thing about drinks, bars, or anything beyond a high schooler's conception of adulthood, gets a positive mention while everything else is smarmily criticized. Makes me question the writer's true experience in the subject matter!

The best place for Mexican food in Chahalis Washington exit 79 across the freeway from Wal Mart off of State Ave. Is Plaza Jalisco the prices are very reasonable and the portions are good size. They also have a lounge.
The best place to eat for American food in Centralia Washington is Kit Carson exit 82 next to Denny's, they also have a lounge. My most favorite place to eat is Plaza Jali in town.sco I love their food, even though they could make their salsa alot hotter, I think that It's the best in town..

Obiviously, you've never had a really good mixed drink or even an out of this world Mexican dinner w/excellant service? Chahalis, Washington & Kit Carson? Are you for real? Red-neck Washington? o m g! I've been both places my folks used to live in Centralia, & I lived near-by many yrs ago. Their food is terrible, the drinks suck! Excellant Mexican food .. Mexico Lindo .. Mableton, GA. People are lined up & waiting almost every night of the wk. Wk-ends, it's a 2 hr. wait if not longer to get a table. They also make the most "bow-day-shus" Margaritas I've ever drank, & believe me I've drank many drinks, beer included, been a beer tender too, & been drunk in many bars, cocktail lounges, etc. And, no, I am not nor will I ever be .. an alcoholic! I have always been a lady where ever I've been, never embarrassing myself or the people I was with. And, I have my late ex-husband to thank for showing me the "finer things in life", as he put it. He was a Chevis drinker, which may or may not say much about his tastes. I realy don't give a flying rat's back-side what other people think about my choice of alcoholic beverages, just as I don't care what other people think of the other choices I make .. clothes, vehicle I drive, football team I'm a huge fan of, where I live, my manner of speech, programs I watch on t.v., my age or my size!! I do like Alaskan Amber draft if I'm drinking beer out. At home, it's Alaskan Amber, in the bottle, wine, or probly a Bloody Mary, quite spicey, while I watch my football games on the telly. Happy drinking, y'all!! Remember ... alcohol & gasoline do not mix.

I would like to have Madeira, hope I spelled it correctly. It's fortified Table Wine. Last and only time I bought a bottle of it, I found it at Marsh Grocery Store in Indianapolis, IN. Although I have little interest in driving in that city because of the Indy 500 wanna be drivers racing past and cutting you off to get to the next traffic light, I'm leaning toward returning. For that and a trip to the German Bakery.

Pimm's cup an Anglophile ??? It was invented in New Orleans.

Creolephile, yeah baby! Beads for everyone.

Oh, quit being judgmental, just drink what makes you happy- and if that means you order a sex on the beach and you're prospective lady isn't impressed than she wasn't the one for you anyway. Also all European drinkers- quit being all pretentious about it, you're better at drinking than Americans and have better beer, and we know it- pity us but don't judge.

Sometimes I like taffy

tdm-35-icon.png

HAHA! I got a good laugh out of that, thanks!

tdm-35-icon.png

Wow, all this anonymity sure raises the quality of discourse, don't it?

tdm-35-icon.png

All you non-drinkers, move along, please. Your position is duly noted.

tdm-35-icon.png

Not funny. Not true. Not a real student of human behavior are we?

tdm-35-icon.png

What makes "Chiara" such an expert? These articles are for the young and very, very dumb.

tdm-35-icon.png

stupid as all get out. stated as if authoritative when it's just stupid.

tdm-35-icon.png

Yes

tdm-35-icon.png

Why no non-alcoholic beverages? Does everybody HAVE to be a drunk?

tdm-35-icon.png

I have allergies, no red wine, no colored liquor. Anything that touches oak or maple is out. I worry about the weeds used to brew beer...so I stick with something I know doesn't bother me...gin and tonic or Miller High Life, and I can drink most cheap white wines. One sip of any Coors beer and I sneeze immediately. Maybe consider those possibilities the next time you meet someone new.

tdm-35-icon.png

Tangueray & Canada Dry Sugar-Free Tonic with a wedge of lime. Sugar-free because it's fizzier and the sf content isn't tasteless.

tdm-35-icon.png

You tarnish the name of Gin and tonic drinkers... and those who suffer from allergies

tdm-35-icon.png

I smell a hypochondriac!

~ Wow, what a Brew-Ha-Ha;

~ When I imbibed at a former time . . . . I was Never Concerned with what ANYONE thought about my choices; partly because I was game to try most ANY type of drink at anytime, & in ANY Quantity, Order and/or combinations. If it was W E T, I Enjoyed It !!!

~ Now, I would STILL Not Concern myself with anyone seeing me order my favorite beverages, including a nice cup of coffee, if the weather is coolish or cold outside.

~ I did Enjoy the interesting information about the UK, WOW, I must have looked like a chiller-killer of the worst sort. HAH !!! France, Italy, & Germany were FUN, Too !!!

~ Noting the times of some posts . . . . I Try to NEVER Discuss/ARGUE with DRUNKS !!!!

~ BTW: I no longer imbibe; since I do MUCH BETTER on My Favorite DRUGZ !!!!

tdm-35-icon.png

WOW! I need a drink to even tolerate your answer, your opinion of yourself is way too high

tdm-35-icon.png

So i typically enjoy a single malt 12 year scotch on the rocks anytime i drink, date or not. So what does that say about me? That i prefer booze that is smooth and tasty rather than cheap and disgusting? Cause thats all it means to me. Also, if you drink only to 'impress' you should probably never consume alcohol because you are clearly underage still.

tdm-35-icon.png

Interesting... here's another perspective: If I drink an older Scotch, it's never on the rocks; when I need water or ice, that's all on the side. I'd want an older Scotch for savouring, and at my pace, on ice it'd become cold and watered-down before I'm halfway through. On the other hand, when I don't want to dawdle over a drink, I order a cocktail. Funny how the drinking game is so subjective.
