April Bloomfield, Alex Guarnaschelli, And Other Female Chefs In New York City To Attend SHARE Benefit

The 12th annual SHARE Benefit to raise funds and awareness for women affected by breast and ovarian cancer will take place on September 21 at Chelsea Piers. The benefit will feature women chefs based in New York City.

April Bloomfield (most well-known for The Spotted Pig and The Breslin) will return as the event's executive chef. Pat Battle, co-anchor of Weekend Today in New York and a breast cancer survivor, will host the event.

Among some of the chefs who will be in attendance are Food Network star Alex Guarnaschelli, Anita Lo of Annisa, Amy Scherber from Amy's Bread, Leah Cohen of Pig & Khao, Sarabeth Levine of Sarabeth's.

"Women of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds get breast and ovarian cancers," Jacqueline Reinhard, SHARE's executive director, said in a statement. "When it comes to diagnosis, the disease doesn't discriminate. And SHARE exists to help everyone with crucial support, life-saving information, and guidance that suit the needs of each woman."

Celebrities that will act as sous chefs for the day include cookbook author Lourdes Castro, principal ballerina dancer Megan Fairchild, Broadway actress Jessica Hecht, and more.
