Restaurateurs Are Now Joining The Modeling Industry

Banana Republic may have hopped on the food-fashion trend first, teaming up with Bon Appètit a while back to create a Desk to Dinner line. But it's not like they got Nigella Lawson to model their line.

Clothing line GANT has taken on chefs and owners Phil Winser and Ben Towill of New York City's The Fat Radish to be the faces of their GANT Rugger Fall 2012 campaign, epitomizing the well-known trend of chefs that are babes.

"[Cooking and clothing design] both require intelligent sourcing, a good sense of the past, and a finished product that's honest but not flashy," creative director Christopher Bastin said in a press release. "Phil and Ben are not only handsome devils, but also specialize in food that is simple, comforting, and expertly prepared. It was an ideal match."

So what will the men of The Fat Radish be wearing? In GANT's PR terms, everything a food lover needs, from "sportswear-driven casual moments to dapper suits and sportcoats required for front-of-house evenings." Also included in the line: a denim apron and a hand-forged chef's knife. We'd like to see an Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert campaign next, please.
