Carrie Underwood isn't the only vegetarian star out there.

Vegetarian and vegan lifestyles are becoming more and more common. Even some athletes have chosen to cut meat out of their diets. And believe it or not, Hollywood has a few movie stars, singers, and TV personalities that are vegetarian or vegan too.

People have a lot of different reasons for not eating meat. There are health concerns with eating industrially raised meat, as well as worries about animal welfare and environmental impact of the meat industry. We found out why these celebrities decided to turn away from a meat-eating diet. You may be surprised to find how who is living the vegetarian lifestyle!

Alan Cumming

The star of stage and screen has been a vegan since 2012, and before that was a vegetarian. The idea of eating meat doesn’t sit well with him, and after viewing multiple documentaries about how meat is produced, he had concerns about his health.

Kristen Wiig

Kristen Wiig was awarded as being one of PETA’s Sexiest Celebrity Vegetarians in 2011. She credits her fit physique to her plant-based diet high in tofu and whole fruits and vegetables.

Jared Leto

Another strict vegan, Jared Leto also claims that his youthful looks at age 42 are due to his diet. Not only does he not eat any animal products or byproducts, he also doesn’t drink alcohol.

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood famously does not eat meat. Growing up on an animal farm turned her off of eating beef. She stopped eating red meat after seeing her parents castrate a cow, and turned full vegetarian in 2005. Seven years later she announced she was going to be a full-time vegan as well.

Peter Dinklage

All the “meat” that the Game of Thrones star eats on screen is actually tofu substitutes. Peter Dinklage has a strong love for all animals and believes the meat industry is unnecessarily cruel. He starred in a video for PETA urging the public to ‘Face Your Food.’
