VIEW 62 by Paco Roncero to Open in Hong Kong
The revolving restaurant sets a new table for avant-garde gastronomists in Asia

Paco Roncero, one of Spain’s top chefs, brings nouvelle cuisine to Hong Kong in the form of VIEW 62 by Paco Roncero. VIEW 62 by Paco Roncero is the former British colony’s only revolving restaurant, and will open in mid-June. The two-Michelin star chef has made a name for himself with his avant-garde cuisine at Madrid’s Casino de Madrid and at gastro bar Estado Puro.
The new restaurant on the Hopewell Centre’s 62nd floor on Queen’s Road East in Wan Chai features modern European fare created from Roncero’s latest forays into culinary science and nouvelle cuisine techniques.
The interior design injects as much experimentation and innovation as the food — the restaurant features three areas, including a lounge with an eight-meter-long black marble bar embossed with mother of pearl, a DJ booth, and an undulating ceiling with more than 50,000 hanging wooden sticks that create the illusion of being in the clouds. The floor mirrors the motif with hand knotted wool carpet that resembles ripples made by raindrops.
A private dining area with a chef’s table and the main dining area are designed in a palette of retro black polished chrome, dusky purples, and faux lizard skin. The restaurant rotates one full cycle every hour, providing diners with views of Hong Kong’s iconic sites like Victoria Harbor and The Peak.
