Study Says Everyone Drinks Wine On Wednesdays

We have no idea how these folks got the numbers, but a study by bottlers Cobevco in Australia claims that the majority of weekday drinkers pour a glass of wine on Wednesday evenings, at 6:53 p.m.

News Limited reports that the most popular time to pour wine would be at 6:53 p.m. on Wednesdays. When divided by gender, men get a glass at 6:40 p.m. while women take their first sip at 7:07 p.m. Even more interestingly, the study found that 76 percent of the subjects drink at home instead of at a bar (probably because it's cheaper).

The company says that people tend to avoid drinking on Mondays and Tuesdays, but by Wednesday night the worst of the week is done, justifying opening a new bottle of vino. One subject said that on Wednesdays, she "always gets into my pajamas and enjoy a few glasses at around 7 p.m. with my dinner. It's the perfect time to sit on the sofa and share a nice bottle of red." Except sometimes, we find ourselves seriously hankering for some whiskey on a Monday.
