Ingredients
  • 1 medium sized smoked pork shoulder
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 5 sliced cooked bacon, diced
  • 3 granny smith apples, cored, and sliced
  • 2 cup louisburg cider
Directions
  1. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon and basil together with oil.
  2. Take the pork shoulder and pierce with a fork all over the meat. Rub the mixture onto the pork, covering it as evenly as possible.
  3. Place pork in slow cooker and place chopped apples and bacon around the shoulder. Pour apple cider over the contents.
  4. Place lid on and cook on high for 8 hours or low for 12 hours.
