  • 1 package (8 ounces) brick cream cheese, softened
  • 36 OREO Cookies, finely crushed (about 3 cups)
  • 4 packages (4 ounces each) white or semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
  • 16 pretzel twists, each broken into 3 pieces

Mix cream cheese and cookie crumbs until blended. Shape into 48 1-inch balls to resemble helmets. Freeze 10 min. Dip balls in melted chocolate. (Tip: Use food coloring to tint melted white chocolate to match the color of your favorite football team.) Insert pretzel piece into each for the facemask. Place in single layer in shallow, waxed paper-lined pan.

Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm.

Decorate helmets using decorating icing with your favorite player's number and small round candies. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Cookie Shopping Tip

Be sure to purchase the correct flour a recipe calls for – flours differ in gluten or protein content, making each suited for specific tasks.

Cookie Cooking Tip

Insert a toothpick into the center of cakes, bar cookies, and quick breads to test for doneness – it should come out clean or only have a few crumbs clinging to it.

Cookie Wine Pairing

Milk is more traditional with cookies than wine in the U.S., but a few cookies and a glass of sweet wine make a simple, enjoyable dessert. Sweet chenin blanc, muscat, or amontillado sherry with nut-based cookies; sauternes or sweet German wines with sugar cookies; cabernet sauvignon or cabernet franc with chocolate desserts; Italian vin santo with biscotti.
