Qatar Airways Named 'World's Best Airline'

Qatar Airways has been awarded the title of World's Best Airline for the second year in a row at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards.

The annual Skytrax survey polled more than 18 million business and leisure air travelers from 100 countries, and the winners were announced at the Farnborough Airshow, in the U.K.

Qatar Airways was also named Best Airline in the Middle East for the seventh consecutive year and received the Best Airline Staff Service award in the Middle East.

"I am extremely proud of the adulation given once again by the very people who fly — the traveling public, for their support and faith in Qatar Airways," said Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker.

Air travelers were surveyed during a 10-month period about their experiences with airlines on the ground and in the air. The survey measured passenger satisfaction of 200 airlines, including check-in, boarding, onboard seat comfort, food, beverages, in-flight entertainment, and staff service.

Qatar Airlines serves international cuisines ranging from European, Indian, Middle Eastern, and Far-Eastern options on its long-haul and international flights along with complimentary beer, wine, and spirits on all flights. Each seat has its own television and in-flight entertainment system with more than 1,000 programming options.
