Here's what's happening in the Los Angeles dining scene this month:

IHOP Offers Halloween Themed Menu Items

International House of Pancakes (IHOP) restaurants throughout the country will be offering special Halloween themed menu items during the month of October.  The Just for Kids menu will feature the Scary Face Pancake and adults can indulge in pumpkin flavored pancakes all month.

Comme Ca Turns 6

In honor of Comme Ca's 6th anniversary, the restaurant is offering weekly $6 cocktails from their classic 18a cocktail menu throughout the month of October.

SAAM White Truffle Dinner

Chef Jose Andres is celebrating white truffle season with a sixteen course dinner highlighting the ingredient at SAAM and The Bazaar. Menu items include a cotton candy truffle dumpling, Iberico pork cheeks and truffle and white truffles and white chocolate cremosa with freeze dried cherry meringue. Guests can enjoy the tasting menu on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from October 23 through November 23 for $325 per guest, reservations at 310.246.5555.

James Beard Foundation Fundraising Dinner

On October 11, the James Beard Foundation will host "All Tracks Lead to LA," bringing gourmet food trucks and a dinner to Union Station. Food trucks will provide appetizers during the reception prior to a formal five course dinner prepared by chefs Rick Bayless, Nobu Matsuhisa, Michael Cimarusti, Jeremy Fox and Karen Hatfield.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the LA Community Gardens Council.  Go to tasteamerica.myshopify.com/collections/los-angeles to buy tickets.

New Fall Menus

Crossroads unveiled their new fall vegan menu items including scaloppini au poive, risotto del giorno, kale spanakopita and eggplant componata.

Westwood's Napa Valley Grille launched their new Harvest menu with items inspired by the fall season. New items include bacon and lentil soup, wild white sturgeon, Cajun BBQ shrimp and beer braised short ribs among other items. Complementing the menu items are fall inspired cocktails including Ginger Orchard with bourbon, apple brandy and bitters; Black Garden with tequila, St. Germaine, blackberries and basil; and Harvest Bliss with gin, Lillet Blanc and green grapes.

Hotel Bel Air has added new fall menu items including a tuna sashimi with wasabi aoili and finger lime zest, white truffle risotto and Diver Scallops with young brussels sprouts leaves and a butternut puree.

Chef Bernhard Mairinger of BierBeisl to Appear on Iron Chef and Knife Fight

BierBeisl's chef Bernhard Mairinger will be the challenger on "Iron Chef America's Battle Oktoberfest" on Saturday, October 12. To celebrate, the Beverly Hills eatery will serve special sausage and schnitzel sampler platters during the month of October. Also featured in October are a duo of pork, homemade pretzels with spicy mustard and all 10 ounce draft beers for only $7. Chef Maringer will also appear on Esquire channel's "Knife Fight" on October 22.

La Sandia and Zengo Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Chef Richard Sandoval's La Sandia and Zengo restaurants in Santa Monica are donating $1 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for every Pink Ribbon Aqua Fresca drink that is ordered in October.
