Pack It Up Folks, There's Now Spreadable Beer

Move over, Nutella and peanut butter, there's a new delicious spread in the house. Alta Quotta, an Italian company is producing "birra spalmabile," which means "spreadable beer," a.k.a. beer butter. The beer butter "spreads like ganache" with a "sticky, smooth texture," and contains 40 percent beer, but actually contains no alcohol. You can now order it for delivery to the states via Firebox.

The product description on the website sounds heavenly. The spread comes in light and dark brew, and is a "product with an intense, full-bodied and high creaminess... goes well with appetizers and cheeses , great on crostini, original idea to decorate or fill sweet pastry , fluffy cake and ice cream."

Thanks for the delicious ideas, Alta Quota, but we can think of even more places to spread some hoppy love; by spreading it on a pretzel, squirting it on some bratwurst, or even just snacking on some apples and beer spread, for example.
