Here's A First Glimpse At Momofuku Ko 2.0

David Chang has just given us a glimpse of his highly anticipated new location of Momofuku Ko. The tiny chef's-table restaurant, which was named "Best New Restaurant" by Adam Platt in 2009 and received a three-star rating from Frank Bruni when it first opened, is about to get a new home on Extra Place in the East Village, and chef Chang tweeted out a glimpse of the shiny new dining area. The new space looks quite a bit larger than the tight squeeze at the original location on First Avenue; we can see at least 13 seats at the counter, plus two tables.

The restaurant is sure to have an arsty, quirky vibe from the cool, metallic-looking furniture and the walls covered in graffiti from street artist David Choe, who painted horses and a colorful portrait of a woman's head.

Just the week before, Chang Instagrammed a photo of the newly-installed kitchen island. The chef has yet to announce an opening date, but it will probably be soon, because the staff just had their first family meal at the restaurant last night. One thing's for sure: no matter when the opening is, be prepared for a long waiting list for a chance to eat at David Chang's chef's table.
