Mark Your Calendars: Ippudo Westside To Host One-Day Ramen Event Celebrating Hakkaisan Sake

Iconic ramen eatery Ippudo is hosting a one-day special event, though there won't be any superheroes at this one.

Ippudo is celebrating Hakkaisan Day, August 8, by serving up ramen inspired by Hakkaisan sake, created by ramen master Fumihiro "Foo" Kanegae. Hakkaisan is a sake brewery known as "Eight Peaks," and is famous for its top quality sake.

Kanegae's sake ramen features a broth made with Hakkaisan sake and the chashu meat on top is marinated in sake kasu that is imported directly from Hakkaisan Brewery. The miso-style ramen has a clear soup, and the release stated, "You will experience nothing less than a completely new type of ramen!"

There is a vegetarian option with egg noodles, and the ramen is paired with a glass of Hakkaisan sake.

Sake Bar Ippudo will offer a special selection of Hakkaisan sakes beginning at 5 p.m., and there will be a raffle each hour to give customers a chance to win a Hakkaisan sake cup.

The event will take place at Ippudo Westside on August 8 from 11 a.m. to 8:08 p.m. For $8.88 customers will enjoy a bowl of Hakkaisan ramen and a small glass of Hakkaisan Tokubetsu Junmai (not including tax and gratuity). There are no reservations and portions are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.
