Krispy Kreme And Dunkin' Donuts Are Giving Out Free Doughnuts On Friday, June 5

National Doughnut Day returns this Friday, June 5, and both Krispy Kreme and Dunkin' Donuts will be giving away free doughnuts all day to celebrate.

At participating worldwide locations of Krispy Kreme, you may choose any doughnut that calls to you, while at Dunkin' Donuts, the offer is only valid with the purchase of any beverage. The same goes for Cumberland Farms, the East Coast-based convenience store chain that will also take part in this fun food holiday.

Your local doughnut shop might be participating, too, so make sure to check.

Traditionally celebrated on the first Friday in June, National Doughnut Day was established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army, honoring women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I.

"Doughnuts have a special place in our country's history and culture, creating moments of delight, lifting spirits, and bringing people together at work and at home," Dunkin' Donuts executive chef Jeff Miller said in a statement. "We are proud to celebrate this timeless favorite on National Doughnut Day with our loyal guests."
