American Express Expands Plenti Loyalty Program Into Grocery Category

Grocery shopping with rewards programs can provide shoppers with pretty good deals, such as discounts on purchases and even product giveaways. This week, Plenti, a loyalty program by American Express, has added the first grocer to its program: Southeastern Grocers LLC.

Through the partnership, the company says it expects that more than 700 store locations and millions of members will be added to the Plenti program, according to the press release.

Members of Plenti will not only be able to save on groceries, but also on gas — Exxon and Mobil gas stations are part of the program as well.

Plenti initially launched in Harveys Supermarkets last year, according to the company.

Starting April 5, members can begin earning points with other Southeastern Grocers brands, gaining one point for every $2 spent. Plenti members can also shop online through the Plenti Online Marketplace.
