Chef José Andrés Is Back On Twitter After Hiatus

José Andrés is back on Twitter after denouncing social media forever. His retreat from Twitter only lasted two months, as this weekend, the James Beard Award-winning chef announced that he's back on Twitter with an official announcement to his friends on "Tweeter," and a photo of what he's cooking his family for dinner tonight (it looks to be a chorizo broth, with a pot of simmering vegetables and black eyed peas to the right of the photo).

Although we were sad to see Andrés' virtual presence go, he has cheated throughout his hiatus with frequent retweets. The Daily Meal reached out to Andrés to learn more about his return to Twitter, but has not yet received a response.

Andrés is known for his thought-provoking and brutally honest tweets, often in response to his critics. But perhaps the reason he is back on Twitter is to spread the word of his passion for changing American food policy (in his tweet from today that quoted an article by Mark Bittman about creating a national American food policy that would guarantee humane treatment of animals, healthful and affordable food resources for all, and food that is free of toxins, drugs, and chemicals).
