Catch Saxon + Parole's Sweet Summer Fridays On The Bowery

Before Labor Day gets here and wipes away all traces of summer and the surreal treat that is summer Fridays, take an afternoon to appreciate the indulgent deal that's currently available at Saxon + Parole on the Bowery.

At Brad Farmerie's restaurant celebrating "grilled meats and aquatic delights," Summer Fridays on the Bowery launched in June and will last until August 29, the Friday before Labor Day.

Between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., the restaurant features special summer cocktails (think custom Bloody Marys and Champagne Negronis) and live bluegrass music every Friday for relaxing afternoons that feel like a long Sunday brunch — except that on any other Friday, you'd still be in the office.

But that's not even the best part — Saxon + Parole's  $30 "3 Martini Lunch" is a tower of seafood and fresh crudité, topped with three Absolut Elyx martinis nestled a bed of crushed ice.

As an aside, my guest and I were incredibly pleased to find that the martini glasses at S+P were much more stable than the wide and unwieldy glasses that I've barely been able to cross a room without spilling. If you're looking for a place in the city to get properly day-drunk (on a work day!), do visit Saxon + Parole before the season ends on August 29.
