The Martini is the quintessential cocktail. Passed down from generation to generation, this drink has withstood the test of time for a reason: its minimalist recipe and endless variations offer anything you could need from a drink with this much sophistication and class.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces Dry Gin
  • ½ ounces dry Vermouth

Directions

Pour the Gin and Vermouth into a shaker filled with ice. Shake well, until the sides have condensation. Pour out into a chilled Martini glass. Serve with either an olive or a lemon peel.

Martini Shopping Tip

Buy your booze in bulk – transfer what you need into smaller bottles to stock your bar – you’ll save money and have enough leftover for your next party.

Martini Cooking Tip

Add another layer of flavor to your cocktails by making your own simple syrup – combine equal parts sugar and water with whatever aromatics you like – fresh herbs, whole spices, citrus, or chile peppers – heat to dissolve sugar and strain before using.
