Has your New Year’s resolution to eat healthier already gone down the tubes? If that’s the case, check in with yourself and find out why. Did you set unrealistic expectations? Were you prepared? Did you jump in too fast? Surviving the new year doesn’t have to be difficult, especially if you are making an effort to be a healthier, happier you.
1. Prepare and Pack Snacks
Over the weekend, chop your vegetables and put them in individual bags so that you have snacks for the week. Then, spoon out individual servings of hummus and guacamole for a nice pairing. Preparing snacks for the week will prevent you from reaching for something unhealthy instead.
2. Use the Slow-Cooker
Wouldn’t it be nice if your dinner was ready for you when you arrived home? With a slow-cooker, you can toss healthy ingredients in in the morning and by the time you get home from work or school, your meal will be ready. You won’t even think about ordering that pizza.
3. Make Healthier Versions of Your Favorite Foods
If you have an unforgivable sweet tooth, you have to make something to appease the cravings. By making healthy cookies or healthier muffins, you won’t feel deprived. Instead, you’ll be proud that you are indulging the healthy way.
