French Laundry Veterans Headed To Le Bec-Fin

Last weekend marked the ending of an era as Georges Perrier closed his acclaimed restaurant, Le Bec-Fin.

The new rendition of Le Bec-Fin will reportedly open in May, and it looks like the restaurant will be a little French Laundry reunion.

New owner (and former French Laundry general manager) Nicolas Fanucci has brought on two former French Laundry chefs. Philly.com reports that former French Laundry sous chef Walter Abrams is taking over as executive chef of Le Bec-Fin, bringing along another French Laundry veteran (and Abrams' girlfriend) Jennifer Smith as pastry chef.

Abrams was most recently chef de cuisine at San Francisco's Spruce. Fanucci has promised "over the top" French food, and the downstairs bar Tryst will be renamed Chez Georges.
