From the vine to the bottle, the wine-growing and winemaking at Vine Cliff Winery comes under the watchful and caring eye of Rob Sweeney. He is involved in making every vintage and varietal produced here, bringing a hands-on style and familiarity with the estate that insure that we always meet our singular mandate – to produce the best possible wine every vintage.

Nell Sweeney purchased the winery for her family in 1985. As Proprietress, Nell has been the vision and the driving force behind the winery's development and has worked closely with eldest son Rob to regain Vine Cliff's position as a leader in the production of superior Napa Valley wines.

I ventured north to Napa for our Foodie Chap chat. We sat in the garden at the recently opened Vine Cliff Winery in Oakville.
