Everybody's Already Eating These Vegan Foods

At first glance, eliminating all animal products from your diet sounds like a huge challenge. No steak? No eggs? Impossible! But in reality, going vegan isn't just about cutting foods out of your diet, it's about eating a whole lot more of the foods that you already eat. Here are six vegan foods that you most likely already eat, and enjoy.

Salad

A big bowl of vegetables is about as vegan as it gets, and you can even find them at just about every fast food restaurant now. If you make them yourself, however, you can customize exactly what goes into it, like beans, which are a great source of protein.

Oatmeal and Cereal

There's no reason to deprive yourself of a good breakfast. Just replace dairy milk with non-dairy milk, like soy or almond milk.

Falafel

This Middle Eastern fried chickpea patty is full of flavor and loaded with vegetables. As long as you make sure the pita is vegan, you won't even realize that it's good for you.

Peanut Butter and Jelly

Arguably one of the tastiest flavor combinations out there, both peanut butter and jelly are completely vegan.

Pasta

Most dried pasta is just semolina flour and water, and today it's also available made with grains like spelt and kamut. Add in marinara sauce, your favorite vegetables, and maybe some soy-based sausage or meatballs, and you've got dinner.

Chips and Salsa

Potato chips, tortilla chips, pretzels, popcorn... most of our favorite snacks are already vegan. There's also a wide variety of salsas out there. So don't be afraid to snack!
