The Search For The Best Doughnuts In The Twin Cities: Part 1

As the Twin Cities gets its usual April snow showers, it's hard not to fall back into the winter blues — that is until you get yourself over to Glam Doll Donuts to try one of their many epic flavor bombs. Glam Doll Donuts is located on Eat Street — 17 blocks of unique, authentic, and ethnic goods experiences — and excites from the moment you step into the store.

Arwyn Birch and Teresa Fox, the two original glam dolls, have transformed the place into a vintage donut and coffee bar, where everything is fresh and made from scratch. The bright yellow counters and snazzy lights are welcoming to any cold Minnesotan walking by, and if that isn't enough to lure you in, the smell of freshly brewed coffee and sweet donuts will.

Find out what America's best doughnuts are.

One look at the menu and you will be torn in a million directions (and be in awe of the fabulously creative doughnut names used). Are you interested in a traditional raised doughnut but want an extra kick? Try the Showgirl, a Long John donut covered in maple icing and bacon. In the mood for something completely different and outside the box? Order the Chart Topper, a cake donut that has not only a Siracha icing, but is also topped with chopped peanuts, and red pepper flakes. This one is not for the faint at heart. Even doughtnut-deprived vegans can be accommodated as, most of the favorites can be made to your diet restriction. Eat your heart out!

The Twin Cities has a number of donut shops, but we are starting strong with Glam Doll Donuts. Get yourself to this shop so you can try some of the amazing creations these ladies are churning out!
