Forget The PSL: There's Pumpkin Pizza In The West Village

Pumpkin pie? Check. Pumpkin lattè? Check.  Small child dressed as a pumpkin? Check.

You think you've seen all things pumpkin — but now, see this: pumpkin pizza.

It may sound scary, but actually, Pizzetteria Brunetti's special pie is a perfect ten.

Made with roasted local pumpkin, chestnut and onion puree, slow-cooked smoky pork belly, house-smoked mozzarella, Gorgonzola, and a spicy fruit mostarda glaze, it's a festive fall dish not to be missed. The nuttiness of the chestnuts is a great complement to the fruit, and the smokey flavor of the mozzarella really brings it all together.

If you're dining with a companion—or several—be sure to order the famous clam pizza as well, a salty, zesty creation that is definitely one of the more unique eats you'll find this season.

Before you even get to those pies, though, start with the eggplant parmigiana, prepared as a neat, clean iteration different from the heavily layered, slightly acidic version typical of most Italian eateries. Also, be sure to order some shishito peppers. They're just the right amount of spicy and salty and hard to stop eating.

If you're not a fan of getting the chills, the outdoor garden is still a great option, since the heated lamps keep you quite warm and cozy.

No tricks here — just lots of fun Italian treats.
