Daniel Humm, Will Guidara Bringing NoMad Outpost To Los Angeles

Chef Daniel Humm and restaurateur Will Guidara, the team behind Eleven Madison Park — one of six restaurants in New York City with three Michelin stars — are opening a second location of their more casual, bohemian restaurant, The NoMad, in Los Angeles in 2017. The restaurant will be the first restaurant outside of New York City for the Make It Nice team.

Like the original restaurant, The NoMad Los Angeles will also come with a NoMad hotel of its own, to be located in downtown Los Angeles, in the Giannini Place complex at 7th and Olive streets.

In a telephone interview with the Los Angeles Times, Guidara said that while there will indeed be "a lot that is similar to the New York restaurant," the team is cautious "not to just cut and paste" the menu or overall look of The NoMad.

"We'll be serving the seafood plateau, the foie gras-stuffed chicken and the suckling pig from New York — the classics," Guidara said. "But the more time we spend out in Los Angeles, the more excited we become about the possibilities out there, and the real vitality of the chefs' community."

As for an LA outpost of Eleven Madison Park, it's way too early to even entertain the idea — but "once we begin spending more time in Los Angeles, you never know what could happen."
