Boston Prepares For The James Beard Foundation's Taste America Dinner Oct. 28

The James Beard Foundation continues its fourth annual Taste America tour on Oct. 28 in Boston. The foundation is traveling to 10 cities across the country to host one-of-a-kind fundraising dinners highlighting local cuisine and headlined by a visiting all-star chef and local star chef, as well as cooking demos, artisanal tastings, and book signings.

The exclusive dinner benefiting the James Beard Foundation will take place at The Langham with the cocktail and tasting reception beginning at 6 p.m. Dinner begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature a menu crafted by Taste America all-star and James Beard Award winner.

John Besh of the Besh Restaurant Group in New Orleans; local star and James Beard Award winner Ana Sortun of Oleana in Cambridge; and host chef Mark Sapienza. The night will be emceed by Jenny Johnson, two-time Emmy Award-winning producer and co-host of NESN's Dining Playbook.

The reception will feature tastings Karen Akunowicz of Myers & Chang; Irene Li of Mei Mei Group in Brookline; Peter McKenzie and James Beard Award winner Susan Regis of Shepard in Cambridge; Michael Scelfo of Alden & Harlow; and Jeremy Sewall of Row 34, in Boston and Portsmouth, NH.
