With summer officially here and the month of June winding down, it's time to start thinking about your Fourth of July cookout. If you're like most people, you want something delicious with a patriotic twist — but not something that will have you slaving away in the kitchen for hours.

If you've tried to make a dessert with a patriotic theme in the past and failed miserably, don't feel bad — you're not alone. That's why we thought we should put together a list of our favorite easy-to-make, Fourth-of-July-worthy desserts. And, better yet, none of these desserts require you to turn on the oven — what could be more appealing than a show-stopping no-bake dessert?

With a few fresh berries and some colored frosting to replicate the colors of the American flag, and the occasional splash of Champagne for that sparkling fireworks effect, you can easily create a delicious dessert that's sure to be the star of any picnic or cookout!

The ultimate no-bake summer dessert has to be ice cream cake. Learn to make your own and then decorate the outside with red, white, and blue whipped cream or frosting for the perfect patriotic treat.

Sometimes you have to rely on a few store-bought items to get dessert together quickly and easily. Try using individually sized store-bought cakes (like the ones sold for strawberry shortcake), filling them with instant vanilla pudding, and then piling red and blue berries on top.
