The Colorado Orchid cocktail, made in honor of the 2012 presidential election's swing states, is an homage to the Centennial State. Try it at D.C. hot spot Artbar, at Art Smith's Art and Soul.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 ounces Cape Rock Gin
  • 1/2 ounce St. Germain
  • Splash lime juice
  • Small bunch of Thai basil
  • Paul Louis Sparkling Wine (topper)

DIRECTIONS

Muddle basil with Cape Rock Gin. Add St. Germain and lime. Shake it and pour into a Collins glass. Top off with sparkling wine.
