Better hustle over to Indian Creek Hotel to check out one of Miami Beach's best little secrets --Broken Shaker -- a pop-up bar brought to you by Bar Lab. And you need to shake a tail feather since its set to "pop-down" at the end of June.
Located in the old Creek 28 space at the Indian Creek Hotel, Broken Shaker has a small indoor bar with more spacious outdoor accommodations. Discovering this gem was completely by accident, but I was thrilled to have a break from the flashy scene you'll find a couple of blocks over on Collins Avenue. This is not to say you aren't in a "see and be seen" kind of place - you are! It's just that the cool laid-back vibe of Broken Shaker is a refreshing change from all the slick bar scenes in South Beach, if you ask me. Designed to feel like a bohemian speakeasy, the whole place is decorated with eclectic vintage decor and the garden area is lit with pretty strings of Italian street lights. You'll be hard-pressed not to be charmed by the ambience. Add in hand-crafted cocktails, super-fresh ingredients and reasonable prices and you've got one deliciously winning formula.
Broken Shaker is brought to us by co-master-mixologists, co-creators and co-owners, Elad Zvi and Gabriel Orta, who have a cutting-edge yet polished approach to crafting cocktails at fair prices. Offering light bites and other libations as well, Broken Shaker is really for the person who can appreciate the art of a good cocktail. You will recognize this as you read their six carefully curated cocktail recipes on the menu that change weekly. Their art also carries into the unique glassware and perfect ice cube presentation. Sante!
