Can You Make Your Own Doritos?

Can you make your own Doritos at home? Luckily, yes! Here's how:

Start by taking soft corn tortillas and brushing them with a thin coat of canola oil. A pastry brush works best, but if you don't have one, you can use a paper towel to rub oil onto the tortillas.

Then, using a knife or a pizza wheel, cut each tortilla into 4-6 equal wedges. (If you're using a knife, you can stack all the tortillas into one pile and cut them simultaneously.)

Put the wedges in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake them in the oven until they crisp up and just barely start to brown, about 10 minutes.

For homemade Cool Ranch Doritos, sprinkle your finished chips with a dry ranch salad dressing packet.

For Nacho Cheese Doritos, sprinkle a mix of dry powdered cheese mix (from a box of macaroni and cheese), garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

Regardless of which flavor you make, salt your chips and allow them to cool before eating them.
