Combine all of the ingredients in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Mash the figs as they soften, and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from the heat and let cool before use.
Combine the ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake until cold. Strain over ice in a whiskey glass.
