This banana bread recipe calls for walnuts but you can leave them out if you prefer.

A good banana bread recipe is indispensable to the home cook.

Banana bread is not only a great way to use up overripe bananas, but it is a delicious addition to any breakfast or brunch. Banana bread can even be used in other banana recipes like banana bread pudding or banana French toast. Whether you prefer banana nut bread, chocolate banana bread, or a more traditional bread recipe, you’ve got to have a go-to banana bread recipe in your arsenal.

We like this one; it’s simple, straightforward, and easily adaptable to a number of banana bread variations. It’s flavored with a bit of rum, cinnamon, and nutmeg, but you could easily substitute another mix of spices if you prefer. And, if you don’t like nuts (this banana bread recipe calls for walnuts), just leave them out or replace them with another nut or chocolate chips.
