Wilted Lettuce Salad

Take a head of fresh leaf lettuce.  Clean lettuce, dry thoroughly and cut into 1 inch pieces.  Put into a large bowl.  Optional, add sliced red radishes.

 

In a separate pan head 2 tbsp of bacon grease, 1 tbsp of vinegar, 1 tsp sugar and 1/4 tsp of salt.  When bubbling, pour over the lettuce and mix thoroughly.  Then put a plate over the bowl and let set for 5 minutes.

 

Everyone will love this salad.  I've prepared it for friends who rave about it.
