Foursquare Tips

  • Ingredients are the star at Greg Vernick's bi-level American spot near Rittenhouse Square. Try the "toasts" as an appetizer. You'll love everything coming out of the wood-fired oven.
  • The easy vibe at Vernick make it one of those rare restaurants that can suit so many things: dinner with food-snob friends, cocktails with a gal pal, a meal with the non-adventurous in-laws.
  • Vernick Food & Drink is a critical darling, and putting out some of the most technically beautiful food in Philly. But, there's plenty of soul in Greg Vernick's food, too. [Eater 38 Member]
  • Czech Sour, Best Sazerac in Philadelphia!
  • This place is legit. Get everything. Whoa. Do not miss the blueberry pie!
  • "The wine and cocktail programs are on par with the stellar plates that come out of the kitchen."
  • The Green Goddess cocktail is fab.
  • the milk punch is phenomenal - give it a swill
  • Amazing. Bacon and peas on toast.
  • Everybody seems to order the chili-glazed octopus (with Granny Smith apple and endive) at Greg Vernick's Rittenhouse bistro.
  • Hands down, best restaurant in philly. Sea urchin with warm scrambled eggs, home-made mozzarella, and chicken liver toast are amazing
  • Order the Old Fashioned And the beef tartare. Ask for Jesse to make you a drink!
  • One of Rittenhouse's newest restaurants. Vernick is great if you can get a reservation for dinner - but is also a nice spot for pre-dinner drinks at the bar.
  • Service is outstanding. Their raw fish apps and shellfish roast are delicious. Would skip coat check next time.
  • Lemon chicken and blueberry pie. Enough said.
  • Get anything on toast! Excellent. Brussel sprouts and potatoes are okay
  • Steak tartare toast is unexpectedly good with shaved parmesan. Thai snapper special entree is worth trying but on the salty side. Uni scramble tastes like it sounds - sea flavor, scrambled egg texture
  • Grilled romaine with aged cheddar and figs. Best lettuce anyone has ever had in their lives. About me: I don't believe in hyperboles.
  • Order the crab on toast and the beef cheek! Epic!
  • Vincent makes a great Sazerac and even better Veux Carre.
