Foursquare Tips

  • Get the burger (only available at lunch). Topped w/ Idiazbal/sliced cornichons/pickled onions/crme frache, homemade mayo w/ garlic and guindilla peppers. Tomcat bun. AMAZING

  • It's not hard to find a tapas restaurant in Chelsea, but Txikito sets itself apart a bit with a more comfortable, warmer space than the rest and a menu focused on Basque food.
  • Check out the "In Memory Of" plaques on the backs of all the chairs, which were purchased from a synagogue.
  • The green salty peppers are like Spanish edamame. Yummy! The lamb meatballs are in a light vinegery mint sauce. A must try!

  • Get the suckling pig (if available). It's amazing.
  • get the txipiron "encebollado": squid ribbons. and then ask the 'tender for her favorites to fill the rest of your palate
  • Awesome Basque-style pintxos at this tiny Chelsea wine bar.

  • Good food, but not the best ambiance and somewhat overpriced. The cider (although very good and a delicious basque specialty) is a disappointing ripoff, super small glass. Get the sangria instead
  • You can't go wrong with the specials, and the regular menu items are good too. The chocolate flan is very good, don't miss their desserts.
