California Restaurant Month Celebrates The Cuisine Of The Golden State
So many restaurants, so little time and money. That's a dilemma for many diners in California, but the folks at Visit California are offering up a solution for foodies in the Golden State this January.
Now in its 3rd year, California Restaurant Month (sponsored by Visit California) serves up inventive three course lunches and dinners for discount prices in restaurants throughout the state. California Restaurant Month was launched with the intention of drawing attention to the state as a premier dining destination.
"California is home to award-winning chefs who truly have a passion for creating with local ingredients," says Caroline Beteta , Visit California president and CEO. "Visitors this January can expect to taste the state's inspiring culinary culture as chefs roll out special menus using fresh, local ingredients. California truly is one of the world's best places to dine; Restaurant Month allows visitors, and locals alike, to discover that."
California Restaurant Month lures diners to go out to eat during a month that is typically slow for eateries. This year the impressive list of participating restaurants boasts upscale celebrity chef locations including Bouchon, Craft, Lucques, Red-O, and The Bazaar as well as local favorites such as Lawry's, The Melting Pot, The Palm, and The Sky Room. Prices range from $15 to $25 for lunch and $25 to $45 for dinner.
This year foodies visiting participating restaurants have a chance at more than just an affordable gourmet meal. Visit California is sponsoring a Photo Foodie Contest with a grand prize of an ultimate 7-day California foodie trip for two including airfare, lodging, car rental, a lunch with a Sunset magazine editor and food and wine tastings.
