Foursquare Tips

  • Its hard to know how much ironic distance was intended from TGI Fridays when Bill Telepan ... put together the menu for his downtown venture, but you might wish thered been more.
  • The chef is serving small plates, like grilled cheese "pane con tomate," shrimp poppers, fluke crudo, grilled octopus with almonds, escargot with chickpeas, and lamb tartare with black olives.
  • This place is incredible!!! Opened January 2014, hidden on a street with amazing competition. Seek this place out you won't be disappointed. Octopus and beef rib are A+++. :)
  • This new tapas joint to pop up certainly doesn't disappoint. You'll find creative small plates like grilled cheese 'pan con tomate', pigs in a blanket, & corned tongue - all of which are delicious!
  • Delicious, uncrowded brunch. Don't tell anyone - oh, wait. Damn.
  • Everything is fine but nothing is really really good. Octopus and mushrooms are decent, chickpea salad/cauliflower gratin pass
  • I will admit, dinner is wayyyyy better than brunch. So if brunch was your first experience, come back again. Everything is locally sourced too.
  • I was disappointed to see the arancini and pigs in a blanket were no longer on the menu when we visited after having ordered them on seamless previously. Not impressed with basement seating.
  • Dinner: loved the pork, scallops and half chicken. Can't pick a favorite!
  • Great food and drink.
  • Market-driven plates, such as the Fluke Crudo and Lamb Sliders, bring out the best in Bill Telepan's new downtown restaurant.
  • Summer 2014 restaurant week menu is the way to go.
  • The #redsnapper is amazing
  • Love the simplicity and humor of the dishes. The prix fixe is a great way to get a sampler of everything on the menu BUT it's likely to leave you very full! It's a lot of food.
  • One or two good dishes from about a dozen but this is a place where "tapas" really just means "tiny portions".
  • Baked eggs and grilled cheese for lunch. Fantastic!
  • Awesome Meal, everything was tasty and decor is beautiful and cosy, chef Telepan showed up and said Hi
  • Now open for brunch! Order an extra spicy Bloody Mary and the bacon jalapeo sourdough pizzette.
  • Village Voice is proud to welcome Telepan Local to the 2014 Choice Eats food fest! http://bit.ly/1cRzdNV. We say yes to this grilled cheese.
  • Thrillist says, "Order the foie gras 'jammers', pigs in a blanket and grilled cheese."
