The Sweet Lobby
Washington DC 20003
The Sweet Lobby in Washington DC knows how to stay on top of the waves. First, it was their sensational cupcakes meant to delight all the senses. Then, they expanded to Parisian macarons, another tasty trend sweeping the nation. Finally, The Sweet Lobby offered special Obama and Romney themed baked goods for Election Day 2012 — they've truly capitol-ized on their location near Capitol Hill. As for the cupcakes, each is baked daily, topped with decadent, yet light, frostings. The Daily Meal's must-try flavor: Ginger-White Chocolate (a vanilla cupcake, infused with fresh ginger, topped with a whipped white chocolate-fresh ginger frosting and finished with white-chocolate dipped candied ginger). — Marilyn He, 11/8/2012

Madeleines, macaroons and gourmet cupcakes, oh my! This is where you stock up should the queen drop in for tea.
Their macarons are awesome!
Great macaroons in a rainbow variety of flavors
The macarons (not to be confused with macaroons) are delicious! But also try a "Cupcake Wars" winning cupcake!
Eat a cupcake there and get some macarons to go!
Our guest crusader says the Butterscotch Crunch and Green Tea Pistachio are must tries!
Try the 2 PBnJ, Green Tea, Creole Cacao, Guava, & Vanilla Violet - I love macarons from here!!!! (via @Foodspotting)
Try the Chocolate Caramel Crunch - Sooooo yummy! (via @Foodspotting)
Closed on Sunday. Grr.
The Caramel Apple cupcake is amazing. Best cupcake I've had at a store in DC
The chocolate chocolate is intense.
From personal experience we now also recommend the Chocolate Raspberry Mac Top. It was amazing as were all the macarons we tasted!
The Green Tea Cupcake is my FAV!!
Blueberry cheesecake cupcake is to die for
Macaroons are decent but the Cupcakes were lacking in flavor and disappointing!!!
Maccorenie are well done.
Go for the macarons. Creamy sweet potato is unique, the passion fruit/milk chocolate heady. Other great picks include black-and-white bubbly, a peanut butter and jelly, or a cheese-laced variety.
Didn't try a cupcake, but the macaroons were amazing!
Best cupcake I've had so far in DC. Try the chocolate salted caramel - comes with a milk chocolate macaron on top, so you don't have to choose between cupcake or macaron!
Famous for their macaroons, but my fav is the Sweet Potato cupcake
