When the river turns green, it's time to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Chicago.

St. Patrick’s Day may have started as a saintly holiday, but it is now well known as a way to celebrate the Emerald Isle with food, drink, and merriment. Chicago goes all out, dying the river green, throwing parades, and offering the greatest deals. Get some luck o’ the Irish at these restaurants.

DMK Burger Bar – DMK will be offering magically delicious snacks to their menu for the holiday. Get the Shamrock Shake for $5, a mint chocolate concoction mixed with Lucky Charms. If something savory is what you crave, go for the Stew-Loaded Fries, a pile of fries covered in rich Irish stew.

Lockwood – Get the holiday started right with $16 Jameson whiskey flights. You can line your stomach with hearty Irish fare, such as fish n’ chips and corned beef brisket. A little Guinness ice cream for dessert will top off your boozy day. The dishes are available from March 15th through the 17th.

Howells & Hood – Attending the St. Patrick’s Day Parade? You can step right off the route and into Howells & Hood for plenty of Irish-inspired eats, including corned beef & cabbage, Colcannon brandade, and an Irish breakfast. SideDoor – One of the newest spots off Michigan Avenue is also getting into the St. Paddy’s spirit. Try the corned beef & cabbage, lamb cigars with frisee salad, and the Bailey’s chhesecake. All that grub will make you thirsty, so take advantage of their St. Pat’s Day Cocktail and specials on Great Lakes Conway’s Irish Ale and Jameson. These are available from March 14th through the 17th.

Sedgwick’s – Head to Old Town for an authentic St. Pat’s celebration. Sedgwick’s will be offering a $20 package including plenty of food, green beer, and Guinness. The buffet will include corned beef & cabbage, green eggs & ham, and shepherd’s pie. The deal is available on March 15th from 9am to 11am.

Untitled – After the parade on Saturday, March 15th, head to Untitled to keep the party going. The venue will open at 3pm and offer live entertainment and a treat from the Untitled leprechaun’s “pot o’ gold.” Enjoy their featured Irish whiskey, Tullamore Dew, and order from their dinner menu, which will be available all evening.
