This more elaborate but immediate descendent of the original groundbreaking Spago remains the flagship of the ever-growing Wolfgang Puck empire. Yes, it’s full of glamour and glitz, but it nevertheless remains a place where food is taken very seriously. The famous Spago pizzas are available only for lunch, but it’s almost a shame to waste your appetite on them anyway (almost), given all the first-rate modern Californian–international fare cooked here under the direction of executive chef Lee Hefter, one of the most underrated chefs in America. Veal filet mignon tartare with smoked mascarpone, veal cheek risotto with spring garlic and garlic chives, whole roasted maitake mushrooms with melted leeks, Jidori chicken breast with chicken-leg "pastrami" and celery–mustard purée… these are examples of Hefter's fare. — Yasmin Fahr

It might look like it's stuck in the 80s, which isn't a bad thing now that the 90s are over. No restaurant is as quintessential LA as Wolfgang Puck's first. [Eater 38 Member]

Wolfgang is an original celebrity chef and his food shows. I enjoyed his spaetzle gnocchi and the table lamps which caused quite a stir when knocked over. -John Somerville, Top Chef
Spago is always celebrity packed and one cannot overlook Lee Heffer’s stellar foods, and sherry yards pastries. Chef Lee’s foie gras pastrami is one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten. -Ma

This was the restaurant that started the Wolfgang family. From the opening in 1982 we still serve our delicious Lamb with braised greens and lamb jus.
Amazing food...no matter what you get. Know for the pizzas, but great salads and pastas too...
Wolfgang Puck is actually here a lot of the time!

Owner and Chef, Wolfgang Puck, initially put Wienerschnitzel on the menu as homage to his favorite childhood meal. It has become the most popular dish served at his restaurant.
Try the smoked arctic char and spot it on Foodspotting!
I'm glad I went to Spago's for dine out. I would have been extremely pissed off if I had paid full price for a meal of such mediocre quality.
Once is more then enough...not worth the hype
Vibrant colors, an exhibition kitchen, and a wide stone patio with twinkling lights (the “power” section - you need to reserve this in advance) transport diners a world away. Celeb sightings.
