With so many deal-driven shopping sites and food-focused social media sites popping up these days, it was only a matter of time before someone combined the two concepts. Enter OpenSky.com, a social shopping venture that pairs food-loving consumers with exclusive access to products promoted by celebrity tastemakers.

OpenSky, which will launch officially on Monday, features a number of experts and industry leaders, known as curators, in the areas of food, style and beauty, healthy living, and home an design. Members are encouraged to build a team of curators in their areas of interest to get insider recommendations on the products they're promoting. Food curators featured on OpenSky include Bobby Flay, Ming Tsai, Lulu Powers, Alissa Cohen, and Michael Ruhlman

For a taste of what kinds of products you can hope to see on the site, beginning next week, chef and author Michael Rulhman will be recommending a DMT DuoSharp Bench Stone double-sided, two-grit diamond whetstone knife sharpener to his "followers" on OpenSky.
