Foursquare Tips

  • Under new chef Jeremy Fox, Rustic Canyon has jolted the superb produce into something resembling a cuisine; try the asparagus with fried pheasant egg and ultra-dense bone-marrow gravy.
  • Niman Ranch Burger. Dish out the extra $3 (used to be $2, le sigh) for the fried egg. You're already going big by eating an $18 burger so why not get the works? Enjoy.
  • Moderately priced super seasonal eats straight from SM farmers markets served in a pleasant, tasteful space. Seasonal desserts come from neighbor bakery Huckleberry. [Eater 38 Member]
  • The burger is fathers office meets animal style- hands down, the BEST BURGER IN LA (yeah, I said it)
  • Wines overpriced. Food good. Quality craft beers. Nice ambiance. Think that pretty much covers it. Enjoy.
  • A sip of a French red wine and the best Burger in LA. Can't say no to that!
  • The hip L.A. version of Chez Panisse, this is one of the best spots in Santa Monica offering small plates and seasonal ingredients.
  • The bun is a standard brioche, but the toppings have been chosen for maximum impact, and this is where the burger sings.
  • Basically a compendium of what happens to be on the farmers market A-list that week collated with artisanal cheeses, sustainable meats, and lovingly handcrafted pastas.
  • Featured in LA Weekly's 99 Essential Restaurants!
  • Limited menu. Service lacked warmth. Jidori chicken was bad. Wine good though server made it sound not so?! Why do they call this a wine bar? I've never understood that. Its a restaurant.
  • "Everyone has a beet salad and this is one of the best we have ever had. It is earthy, but not too earthy. It's so well balanced. Jeremy is a master with vegetables!"- Genevieve Gergis
  • One of the better burgers in L.A.! Don't let Father's Office deter you from trying this place. Come around early or late lunch to avoid the crowds!
  • Fox's odd composition of beets, smashed berries and ripe avocado may be the first bowl of purple quinoa you will ever eat with pleasure.
  • Good selection
  • In addition to a new full bar program, chef Jeremy Fox's lighter California-style veggie-centered dishes shine, making the staple westside date spot once again obligatory. [Eater 38 Member]
  • Terrible service!!!! Totally ruined my sister's birthday celebration. I do NOT recommend!!!!
  • Sadly the donuts are no more :( but get the squash blossoms...delish!
  • Burger medium rare with bacon will change your life
  • Do I really have to say it? Get the damn burger.
