Foursquare Tips

  • Excellent museum
  • Free wifi near IMAX theatre and great view of Legislative building from a different angle
  • Feel the ice around the mammoth. It's real
  • Don't forget to check out the long house and the totems outside!
  • The museum is amazing! Make sure you have at least a couple of hours to see everything. We only had one and a half and that was nowhere near enough.
  • Check for extended summer hours on Thursday evenings, free street parking is available a couple blocks up on Government Street away from the harbour.
  • It's by donation week and that includes the wildlife photographer of the year exhibit - double bonus!
  • Check out the Natural History exhibits. The woolley mammoth and forest exhibits are particularly surreal and should not be missed.
  • The tickets let you walk in. And out all day - you should consider booking high tea at The Empress across the street.
  • A must-see in Victoria. A spectacular and very interactive museum dedicated to BC culture.
  • Learn about how other countries size & population compare to BC--no charge; it's in the lobby
