Roberta's Pizza Might Be Planning Rockaway Beach Restaurant
The owners of Roberta's Pizza in Brooklyn seem to be eyeing an outpost for their popular restaurant in Rockaway Beach, according to DNA Info. Earlier in March, a lease for a lot on Beach 96th St. off Rockaway Beach Boulevard was signed, but the Roberta's team is being tight-lipped about the deal for the time being.
However, DNA Info got an answer from Joseph Laconte, an owner of the building, that seems on the positive side of vague. "I'm not saying yes, I'm not saying no. I hope something good comes to my space."
If the restaurant does come to fruition, it wouldn't be the first time that Roberta's owners have ventured out to Rockaway Beach. The team also owns Rippers, a summer bar and burger shack on Beach 86th Street. In the summer of 2013, Roberta's also sold pizza from an oven stand on Beach 67th Street and the boardwalk.
